Authorities investigating the sudden death of former boxing champion Ricky Hatton are now focusing on a startling new lead: an alleged breach of his home’s security system just hours before he was found unresponsive.

A maintenance contractor who serviced Hatton’s home in Manchester told police that the property’s surveillance system had been remotely accessed on the night of the incident. The worker, whose identity is being protected, said he noticed irregular log-ins to the system’s cloud server — entries that appeared to come from an unknown external device.

“It looked like someone had full administrative control,” the source told investigators. “Files were moved, and one recording was partially overwritten.”

Detectives have since recovered what appears to be the original copy of the final 10 seconds of video from the system — footage that had been missing from the home’s official archive. Police sources describe the clip as “deeply unsettling,” saying it captured a brief movement and an audible sound moments before Hatton’s collapse.

Although authorities have not publicly commented on the content, a close family source confirmed that Hatton’s widow was visibly shaken after viewing the material.

“She was devastated,” the source said. “Whatever was on that recording changed how she understood what happened that night.”

Forensic digital experts are now examining whether the footage was deliberately altered or deleted after Hatton’s death. Investigators are also working to determine the origin of the unauthorized log-in that triggered the remote access.

The Greater Manchester Police have not yet released an official statement, but insiders say this discovery could lead to a major re-evaluation of the circumstances surrounding the boxer’s final hours.

“If verified, this could be the single most important piece of digital evidence in the case,” a senior officer noted.

The investigation remains ongoing.
