In a chilling turn of events, search teams investigating the disappearance of 27 girls at Camp Mystic have made a discovery alarmingly close to the original site — and it has shaken even the most seasoned rescuers.
Earlier this morning, a surveillance drone picked up unusual movement beneath the brush just 200 meters east of the summer camp’s dining hall — an area previously marked as low priority due to shallow flood coverage.
Using thermal imaging, operators saw a faint, rhythmic flicker — possibly a hand or fabric shifting under the mud. Rescue workers rushed to the scene and began digging.
At just 50 centimeters down, what they unearthed was described as “deeply disturbing” and “impossible to forget.”
According to on-site officials, buried beneath wet earth and layers of debris was a narrow wooden crate — crudely constructed, partially open. Inside, searchers found evidence of children having been there recently: a name-labeled bracelet, muddy socks, fingernail scratches along the wood, and torn pieces of paper with childlike handwriting.
But the most haunting detail?
One rescuer, shaking, said:
“There was a drawing on the inside wall — five stick figures… and one of them had no face.”
The site has now been secured as an active investigation zone. While no bodies have yet been recovered, police confirm there are “strong signs of containment and movement,” and cadaver dogs are reacting strongly to nearby soil.
FBI agents on site are now operating under the assumption that this may not be a random accident — but rather something more deliberate.
“This is no longer just a flood investigation,” one federal agent said off-record. “This looks staged.”
Families of the missing children, many of whom remain camped outside the perimeter, broke into sobs upon hearing the latest update. The discovery raises devastating new questions: Were some of the girls intentionally hidden — or trapped?
As of now, the area is being excavated further, and subterranean scanners are being brought in to map possible additional enclosures.
