🌪️ Texas Miracle: 2 Missing Girls Found Trembling in Bathroom Behind Camp Mystic — What They Scribbled on the Wall Triggered Emergency Alerts

In a moment many are calling nothing short of a miracle, two of the 27 missing girls swept away by floodwaters at Camp Mystic were found alive — hidden in a small, half-submerged bathroom facility just yards from where the search began.
The discovery came late Tuesday night after a rescue team circled back to re-sweep outbuildings behind the camp’s old chapel. One medic noticed movement through a cracked window. Inside, they found two girls, ages 8 and 10, wrapped in damp towels, trembling and whispering.
But it wasn’t just their survival that stunned responders — it was what was written on the wall behind them.
Scrawled in what appeared to be a broken crayon and bits of charcoal were the words:
“DON’T GO DOWN. THEY TOOK THE OTHERS.”
The message sent a chill through the room — and triggered an immediate Level 1 emergency alert to all field teams and federal agencies on-site.
“It wasn’t just a rescue,” said Captain Marlene Hicks of the Texas Emergency Task Force. “It was a warning. And we’re taking it very seriously.”
Investigators now believe the girls may have witnessed something in the hours after the flood — possibly involving the remaining 20+ children still unaccounted for. When asked where “down” referred to, one girl simply pointed toward the rear of the building and said:
“The floor that made noise. That’s where they went.”
Structural engineers are now assessing the foundation beneath the bathroom and nearby grounds for signs of underground cavities, hidden access points, or storm-drain entryways that may have been used — or deliberately covered.
The two girls, though severely dehydrated and emotionally shaken, are expected to recover. One had carved tally marks into a wooden panel — 10 of them, one for each day missing.
Officials say the bathroom had been previously checked, but rising water had blocked the door. The girls are believed to have entered through a side panel and hid in silence, afraid to come out.
This shocking discovery raises serious new questions about what really happened the night of the flood — and whether something more than nature was involved.
The area is now locked down, with federal agents taking over the scene.
This is a developing story. More to come.
