A heartbreaking update has just emerged from the ongoing search for the final missing girl at Camp Mystic, Texas.

At 10:42 AM this morning, rescue teams discovered a small pink backpack half-buried in thick black mud, roughly 1.7 kilometers south of the camp’s boundary. The area had previously been considered inaccessible due to unstable terrain caused by the recent floodwaters.

When the backpack was recovered, officers called the girl's parents to the scene for possible identification. But nothing could have prepared them for what they found inside.

As soon as the zipper was pulled open, the mother reportedly collapsed to her knees, weeping, while the father was seen clutching a tree for support, visibly shaken. Inside the backpack were:

  • Over a dozen photographs, showing the young girl with her parents, siblings, and even family pets — some from vacations, birthdays, and daily life

  • A small notebook, with drawings of stars, flowers, and a childlike sketch of Camp Mystic labeled “My favorite place”

  • A half-melted crayon box and a folded letter titled: “When I come home…”

  • A bracelet with her name — hand-beaded, now dirty but still legible

One officer at the scene told reporters:

“It was like a time capsule of love — a record of who she was and what she cherished. It didn’t feel like evidence. It felt like a goodbye.”

The contents have now been taken in for forensic testing, but police are confident the backpack belongs to the last of the 27 missing girls — the only one still unaccounted for following the floods.

While the girl herself has not yet been located, this discovery may narrow the search zone. Helicopters and sonar-equipped boats have been deployed across the nearby stretch of river and marshland.

The family has asked for privacy, but issued a short statement:

“Those photos were her favorite memories. Now they are our last memories of her. We will never stop looking.”

📸 Images of the recovered items are being reviewed but will be released shortly.
