EXTREME PAIN: A 13-year-old boy, Alexis Osvaldo Castro, was swept away by the strong currents of the Rio Grande while playing with his friends near Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, and Eagle Pass. Despite desperate searches by family and neighbors, his lifeless body was discovered nearly 24 hours later, close to where he disappeared.

As soon as his body was turned over, his devastated parents burst into tears, unable to bear the heartbreaking sight of their beloved son gone too soon. Alexis had been described as a sweet and kind boy whose life ended far too early.

This tragic loss has left the entire community in grief, with relatives and neighbors coming together to support the family during their darkest moment. A single blue balloon tied to a water bottle now marks the riverbank where Alexis lost his life — a silent reminder of how fragile life can be.

Rest in peace, Alexis. 🕊💙
