NEW UPDATE: Authorities have released the official autopsy results for 7-year-old Bowyn Miller and 4-year-old Banx McAmis, whose bodies were found along the Brazos River in Johnson County, Texas, earlier this week.
According to the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office, both children died from drowning, and there were no signs of external trauma or foul play. Toxicology tests came back negative for any substances, confirming that the boys’ deaths were consistent with an accidental drowning.
Investigators believe the two children were playing near the riverbank when they accidentally slipped into the water. The area has a strong current, and officials say recent rainfall made the water level higher and more dangerous than usual.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation is now being formally classified as an accident, though detectives continue to review the sequence of events and witness statements to ensure no details were overlooked.
Local residents have continued to bring flowers and stuffed animals to the riverbank, turning the site into a small memorial for the two boys. Grieving families have thanked the community for the outpouring of support and asked for privacy as they mourn.
