Authorities have just made public the complete set of text messages and call records between 23-year-old Kada Scott and 21-year-old Keon King, the man currently charged with her murder. Investigators say one message in particular — sent at approximately 10:07 p.m. on the night she disappeared — has completely shifted the direction of the investigation.

According to the newly unsealed court documents, Kada sent a short but puzzling text to Keon reading:

kidnap me again 😂

At first glance, it appeared to be a joke, possibly referring to an inside conversation between the two. However, detectives now believe the message could reveal a pattern of previous encounters between Scott and King — encounters that may not have been entirely consensual.

Police say this single message, when combined with phone location data showing both devices in the same area minutes later, suggests that the meeting on the night of her disappearance might have been prearranged.

Further messages show the conversation continuing briefly before communication abruptly stopped at around 10:09 p.m., just moments before Kada’s phone signal went offline.

Investigators are now re-examining whether the suspect’s actions that night were premeditated rather than impulsive, based on the tone and timing of the texts.

The full message log and call records have been forwarded to the district attorney’s office and are expected to play a central role in the upcoming trial.
