BREAKING UPDATE: Police found that Gus’s GPS watch has suddenly emitted a SIGNAL — 30 km from the spot where he went missing — and what they discovered at the location is sending shockwaves through the investigation.

Authorities confirmed early this morning that at 4:12 AM, Gus’s GPS watch, which had been offline for more than 48 hours, briefly reconnected to the network. The device sent out a single ping from a remote wooded area approximately 30 kilometers northeast of the original disappearance site.

A rapid-response team was dispatched to the coordinates, expecting to find the watch itself — but the situation turned out to be far stranger.

When officers arrived, they located the watch hanging on a rusted wire fence, positioned at shoulder height, as if someone had intentionally placed it there to be seen. The straps were unfastened, and the face of the watch was scratched, but still functional.

However, the most disturbing detail wasn’t the watch — it was what was found directly beneath it.

Investigators discovered a child-sized footprint in the mud, facing away from the fence, along with a second, larger footprint beside it. Both prints appeared fresh, formed within the last few hours.

No other traces were visible — no tracks leading toward the fence, no drag marks, no bicycle or tire prints. Just the two footprints… and the watch.

Detectives are now considering two possibilities:

  1. Gus may have been moved, or passed through the area recently.

  2. Someone is deliberately planting the watch to manipulate the investigation, possibly to mislead search teams or send a message.

The sudden reactivation of the GPS — after days of silence — is currently being analyzed by digital forensics to determine whether it was triggered manually or remotely.

Search teams have expanded operations into the surrounding forest, while officers interview residents living within a 5 km radius of the coordinates. Police have not ruled out the involvement of a second individual based on the larger footprint found at the scene.

A spokesperson stated, “This discovery changes everything. Someone wanted that watch to be found.”

The investigation remains active and urgent.
