Tragedy struck in Cairo on August 16 when a 13-year-old boy named Hamza collapsed and died shortly after consuming three packets of uncooked instant noodles. According to reports, the boy experienced severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and excessive sweating just minutes after eating. He passed away while being rushed to the hospital.
The public prosecutor has launched an official investigation, ordering an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The shopkeeper who sold the noodles has been taken into custody, and samples of the product have been sent to a laboratory for testing.
Authorities stated that the noodles met safety standards. However, health experts are cautioning the public that consuming large amounts of instant noodles raw can cause serious health complications.
