EXCLUSIVE: Police have just discovered Gus’s blue shirt — torn completely to shreds — in a vacant lot less than a mile from where he vanished. The shirt was found stuffed beneath a pile of dry branches, as if someone had tried to hide it but didn’t have time to bury it properly.
What stunned investigators wasn’t the condition of the shirt, but what they found inside it.
Tucked deep within the shredded fabric was a crumpled plastic bag containing a small object wrapped in tape. When officers carefully removed the tape, they uncovered a single, mud-covered key, unlike any house or locker key they had seen in the area. The key had a strange marking scratched into the metal — a symbol resembling a crooked “7” or an unfinished arrow.
