COLUMBUS, Ohio – Tragedy struck Ohio State University on Thursday morning when 19-year-old student William Meyers was found dead inside the school’s stadium.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 9:56 a.m., and investigators quickly cordoned off the area. University officials have not yet released a cause of death but confirmed there are no signs of foul play.
Meyers was a third-year accounting student known for his leadership and community service. Together with his brother, he founded a charity that collects and donates new and used sports equipment to local community centers, making a lasting impact on youth in the area.
“William was a bright, compassionate student whose dedication to helping others inspired many,” said university spokesperson Ben Johnson. “Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who knew him during this difficult time.”
Counseling and support services have been made available to students as the investigation continues.
