NEW DETAILS: Investigators have just recovered a 25-second video showing the final moments before UPS Flight 2976 disappeared from radar. The footage, reportedly captured from a security camera near the Louisville airport, has now become one of the most crucial pieces of evidence in the ongoing investigation.
According to sources close to the case, the video captures the cargo plane struggling to gain altitude as smoke begins to appear near its left engine. Just seconds before the aircraft lost signal, the pilot can be heard speaking to the flight attendant, saying exactly five words — words that, according to one investigator, “changed the tone of the entire investigation.”
Authorities have not yet released those five words publicly, citing confidentiality until the families of the victims are notified. However, multiple aviation experts who reviewed the footage described the exchange as “chillingly calm” — suggesting that the crew knew something was seriously wrong but had only seconds to react.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed that both black boxes are now being analyzed alongside this new video evidence. Officials said the footage will be used to reconstruct the final sequence of events, helping determine whether a mechanical failure or human factor led to the disaster.
Police have not officially published the 25-second video yet, but they confirmed it will be included in the preliminary report expected to be released within the next few days.
