BREAKING UPDATE: Police were taking statements from the man who was last seen with 6-year-old Gus Lamont, but halfway through the questioning, everything changed.
According to investigators, the man appeared calm at first, answering the officers’ initial questions in detail — where they went, what time they parted ways, and who else might have seen them. However, when detectives asked the third question, his demeanor shifted completely. He reportedly went silent for several seconds, visibly tense, and then gave an answer that “did not match the timeline” established earlier in the investigation.
That single inconsistency forced officers to pause the interview and immediately change the direction of the investigation, sources confirmed. Detectives are now reviewing new footage and phone records connected to that discrepancy, as well as re-examining the route the two took on the day Gus vanished.
Police have not released the content of the man’s third answer, citing the ongoing investigation — but insiders describe it as “something no one expected to hear.”
