In a disturbing new development in the case of the 27 missing girls from Camp Mystic, Texas police have revealed that a childlike drawing etched into a rock face may have just led investigators to a grim discovery.

According to authorities, a search team scouring the northern edge of the flooded campgrounds stumbled upon a hand-drawn image of a winding trail, marked with crude symbols resembling trees, water, and what appears to be an “X” surrounded by stick figures.

The drawing was scratched into a large, moss-covered boulder using what investigators believe was a shard of plastic or glass.

“At first we thought it was random doodling,” said Sgt. Lina Hayes of the Texas Search Task Force. “But once we overlaid the drawing on a satellite map of the area, we realized it matched a narrow footpath that wasn’t on any of our original maps — and led to a forest ravine we hadn’t searched yet.”

What police discovered at the end of that path is being kept under tight wraps — but sources close to the investigation confirm that “multiple bodies or remains” have been found, some partially buried beneath debris and mud, others “arranged” in a manner investigators call “highly unusual and deeply unsettling.”

The FBI has now sealed off the area and declared it a secondary crime scene.

“This drawing may have been a desperate attempt by one of the girls to help us find the others,” said FBI Special Agent Janelle Ortiz. “It’s both heartbreaking and potentially pivotal to solving this case.”

Forensic teams are currently analyzing the site, while grief counselors have been dispatched to the families of the missing girls in anticipation of possible identifications.

This development comes just hours after two other girls were found alive on a rooftop west of the floodwaters, sparking renewed urgency and emotional tension across the state.

As of now, police have not confirmed how many bodies have been discovered — or whether foul play is officially suspected. But one thing is clear: the search has shifted from rescue… to reckoning.

This is a developing story. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
