In a devastating update to the ongoing Texas flood tragedy, a leaked internal report from the rescue operation has confirmed that the last of the 27 missing girls has been found — but under circumstances so harrowing that the girl’s parents reportedly fainted upon arrival.
Found at Dawn, Far From Camp Mystic
At approximately 6:32 AM local time, members of a private recovery team, operating south of the original flood zone near Camp Mystic, located what appeared to be a piece of soaked clothing tangled in a broken fence near a stretch of dried riverbed. Upon closer inspection, they discovered the body of an 8-year-old girl, later identified through dental records as the final missing child in the flood disaster.
But what shocked responders—and her family—was the state in which she was found.
Body “Unrecognizable” from Exposure
According to the leaked report obtained by National Alert, the body was:
-
Partially buried beneath debris, including barbed wire, wood splinters, and plastic sheeting
-
Had severe lacerations and exposure damage, likely from sharp flood debris and insect activity
-
Was still clutching a piece of laminated paper that some believe was a hand-drawn map of the camp’s cabins
“It was not just physical damage,” a member of the search crew said. “There was something in her expression that no child should have gone through.”
Parents Collapsed at the Scene
The girl’s parents, who had been accompanying responders during the final stages of the search, collapsed upon seeing her body, prompting medics on site to rush them into ambulances for treatment.
Witnesses say the mother screamed a name repeatedly, while the father was seen punching the ground until his hands bled.
Still No Official Statement from Police
As of now, Texas authorities have not issued an official statement confirming the find. However, several rescue workers have told National Alert that an immediate “do not release” order was issued by law enforcement after the condition of the girl's body was documented.
Rumors suggest that a full report including autopsy findings, time of death estimates, and personal effects recovered with her will be released in the next 48 hours.
Public Outrage Grows
This heartbreaking discovery comes amid growing public pressure on officials to fully disclose all details surrounding the deaths of the 27 girls, after multiple families claimed that camp administrators failed to warn or evacuate ahead of time despite flood alerts.
A protest is currently being planned outside the state capitol in Austin later today.
