In a heartfelt and unexpected announcement, Dana Perino has confirmed what fans long suspected: she is officially leaving Fox News to open a private animal sanctuary, a dream she’s quietly built for over a decade.

But this isn’t just any rescue facility — it’s a fully funded, no-strings-attached sanctuary where vulnerable animals in specific crisis situations will be rescued and rehabilitated completely free of charge.

“This is my way of giving a voice to those who never had one,” Dana said during her farewell interview. “I owe them that — and more.”

Welcome to Paws of Grace

Set on a 120-acre farm in rural VirginiaPaws of Grace will open in early 2026 and will include:

  • Heated barns and open-range recovery pastures

  • 24/7 on-site vet clinic operated by volunteer professionals

  • therapy program pairing senior dogs with veterans, at no cost

  • And a reflection garden in memory of Dana’s beloved late dog, Jasper

The sanctuary will remain closed to the public but open to emergency rescues and specially referred adopters.

Who Qualifies for Free Rescue?

According to the official release, Dana has personally approved three categories that will receive immediate, cost-free rescue services:

  1. Pets left behind after the death of their elderly owner

  2. Abandoned or abused animals found at rural shelters facing euthanasia

  3. Dogs or cats owned by veterans who can no longer afford care

“No animal should suffer because life was unfair to their human,” Dana added. “That’s the mission.”

Paid for — In Full

The most surprising part? Dana revealed she and husband Peter McMahon are covering 100% of all operational costs for the first 10 years, including medical supplies, staff salaries, and food.

“I don’t want donations,” she said. “I want people to donate love where they live. I’ve got this part covered.”

Her Fox News colleagues responded with a mix of pride and tears, and producers say she left behind one handwritten note in the newsroom:

“I’m not disappearing. I’m finally arriving — where I belong.”
