Authorities in the small town of Millhaven are reviewing newly surfaced CCTV footage that may shed light on the mysterious disappearance of Clara Weston and her 10-year-old daughter, Sophie.
According to neighbors, the 8-minute video shows the pair walking together toward a bus stop early Monday morning — the last confirmed sighting before they both vanished. The clip, recorded by a warehouse security camera, was turned over to police after residents noticed movement on the feed that seemed “off.”
“At first it just looked normal — a mother heading to work with her child,” said neighbor Raymond Cole. “But near the end of the clip, they both stop suddenly, like they heard something. After that, they’re gone.”
Police confirmed the footage is being analyzed frame by frame to determine what happened in those missing seconds. The release of the video has ignited outrage online, with residents demanding to know why it took nearly two days for investigators to collect it.
“This kind of delay costs precious time,” said one family advocate. “If that camera hadn’t been checked by the neighbors themselves, we might still have no visual lead at all.”
Authorities have urged the public not to spread or repost the footage, emphasizing that it is evidence in an active investigation.
