LONDON — July 29, 2025
In a chilling new twist to the ongoing investigation into Diogo Jota’s tragic death, police have successfully recovered a previously deleted voice note from the footballer’s personal tablet — and its contents have left both his family and fans utterly stunned.
According to sources close to the forensic tech team, the 43-second audio file was buried deep within the device and had been wiped just days before the fatal crash. The message was addressed not to Jota’s wife, agent, or teammates — but to someone saved only as “C.”
Authorities have now confirmed the identity of “C.” — and the revelation has reportedly caused shockwaves inside Liverpool FC and emotional distress within the Jota family.
“It was emotional, intimate, and absolutely not what anyone expected,” one senior investigator told The Times. “The tone was quiet — almost like a goodbye. And the last sentence… well, we’re still trying to process it.”
Who Is “C.”?
While police have not yet publicly named the individual, several sources with knowledge of the situation say “C.” is a woman who worked with the club between 2014 and 2019, in a role that brought her into frequent contact with players — including Jota, who joined Liverpool in 2020 but had known her through mutual connections.
The audio ends with Jota reportedly saying:
“If I could change everything, I would’ve told you this years ago. No one else ever made me feel like I had a way out, C.”
Family Reacts
Jota’s wife is said to be “deeply shaken” by the development, and the family has requested the message not be released to the public. However, legal teams are now reviewing whether the contents of the voice note may alter ongoing proceedings related to Jota’s estate and previously settled arrangements.
More to Come
For now, authorities remain tight-lipped about whether “C.” will be formally questioned, or what — if any — connection she may have to unconfirmed reports of a second will, allegedly discovered at a Lisbon law firm.
