Authorities investigating the fatal crash of 17-year-old athlete Gary “Landyn” Jacobs have uncovered a chilling new lead.
During a sweep of the wooded area near the accident site, a police K9 unit detected human footprints that did not match Jacobs’ shoes. Investigators immediately cordoned off the area, suspecting that another individual may have been present moments before or after the crash.
At the same time, police confirmed they had recovered dashcam footage from a vehicle that passed by the scene. The video appeared normal at first — until the 9-second mark, when a mysterious figure briefly appeared at the edge of the headlights.
Detectives are now working to match the footprints with the unidentified figure seen on the dashcam. “This changes the timeline entirely,” one investigator admitted. “It strongly suggests Gary may not have been alone in his final moments.”
Jacobs’ family, already shaken by revelations about a last-minute phone call before the crash, has demanded answers. The community, too, is gripped by the possibility that the tragedy may involve more than just a single-vehicle accident.
Police have not yet released the dashcam publicly but promised “further announcements” as the investigation deepens.
