The mysterious death of pretty Florida teenager Anna Kepner on a Caribbean cruise ship has now taken a more sinister tur According to published reports, the body of the 18-year-old high school senior was discovered hidden in a “grim location” on the Carnival Horizon.

Kepner’s lifeless body was discovered on the ship on Nov. 8, but Miami homicide detectives confirmed she died on Nov. 7.

Now, the Daily Mail reports — citing two law enforcement sources — that the teen’s body was discovered wrapped in a blanket and “shoved” under a bed. But the latest revelations have only raised more questions for the FBI, now investigating.

• Why were the remains placed under the bed?

• How long had the body been there?

• And most importantly, how did she die?

So far, the cause of Kepner’s death remains unknown, and cops have been tight-lipped about releasing information in the death of the young student who hoped to join the military after graduation.

FEELING SICK

The FBI has been leading the investigation into Kepner’s death because she died at sea in international waters. Investigators have thus far not said whether they are treating the probe as a murder investigation.

But one source said that the teen had complained of feeling sick at dinner the night before she died. Afterwards, she returned to her cabin.

When her father, Christopher Kepner, 41, and stepmom, Shauntel Hudson, 36, met the family for breakfast the next morning, they realized something was wrong. They then scoured the ship searching for the “bubbly” teen.

A maid eventually discovered the body around 11 a.m. Kepner had been wrapped in a blanket and covered with life jackets. Her body had been “stuffed under a bed.”

Her father told the Daily Mail last Wednesday: “The FBI hasn’t shared anything with me yet. I would imagine they’re going to be in contact with me about it – but I know as little as everybody else. I don’t know who they are looking at or what their investigation is.”

CARIBBEAN CRUISE

The vessel’s location was between Cozumel, Mexico, and Miami at the time of Kepner’s death.

Her body was removed from the ship on November 8 during a six-day cruise after the vessel docked in Miami, after it changed its course.

Former FBI Special Agent Nicole Parker told Fox News that cruise ship death investigations can be “very complex” for law enforcement.

“The FBI has jurisdiction to handle cases when a crime occurs in international waters,” Parker said. “It’s very complex – it falls under what’s called special maritime jurisdiction laws that mandate this.

MARITIME PROBE

“For example, if a cruise departs from Miami, that gives the FBI Miami jurisdiction if it’s returning in or out of a U.S. cruise port. And if the alleged crime occurred in international waters, then that’s the FBI’s responsibility.”

Parker said maritime investigations require coordination between investigators and cruise lines.

A celebration of the 18-year-old’s life will be held in Titusville on November 20.
