Investigators have uncovered a new clue in the case of the two 25-year-old hunters found dead in a remote forest last weekend.
During a secondary search of the victims’ belongings, police discovered a small folded piece of paper in the pocket of one of the hunters’ jackets. Inside, there were exactly seven handwritten words:
“If we don’t return, stay away.”
Authorities have not confirmed who wrote the note or when it was written. Forensic experts are examining the handwriting and paper for fingerprints and other trace evidence.
“This finding could provide important insight into the final hours before their deaths,” a police spokesperson said. “We are treating it as a potential warning or clue and will continue to investigate what the message might have meant.”
The chilling discovery has deepened the mystery surrounding the hunters’ sudden deaths and raised fresh questions about what they may have encountered in the forest.
