EXCLUSIVE: A truck driver has come forward claiming he saw a boy who looked strikingly similar to Gus standing near a gas station just 500 meters from the disappearance site, holding a small teddy bear tightly against his chest. According to the driver, the boy appeared anxious, constantly glancing over his shoulder as if he was either being followed or waiting for someone who never showed up.

The witness said the moment felt “off,” because the boy seemed confused, scared, and unsure of where to go, yet didn’t approach anyone for help. The trucker circled back around within minutes to get a better look, but by then, the boy had vanished.

When police arrived at the scene shortly after the report, they found no sign of the child — no footprints, no dropped belongings, and no trace of the teddy bear. Even more puzzling, the gas station’s outdoor camera wasn’t facing the direction where the boy was reportedly seen, leaving investigators with no immediate visual confirmation.

Officers say they are not ruling out any possibilities. The sighting could have been another child, a case of misidentification, or, as one investigator noted, “it could mean Gus was there — but taken away or hidden before we arrived.”

Police are now collecting surveillance footage from nearby shops, interviewing additional drivers who passed the area that morning, and checking whether anyone else noticed a child carrying a teddy bear near the gas station around the same time.

The sighting has added a new layer of mystery to the ongoing investigation.
