Kate Middleton is celebrating love this Christmas season.
The Princess of Wales, 43, stepped out to host her fifth annual “Together at Christmas” carol service on Friday, Dec. 5, which PEOPLE is attending. As in previous years, the event is taking place at a very special venue: Westminster Abbey in London, where Kate wed Prince William in 2011.
As she exited her car, Princess Kate sported a long green jacket with fur trim around the neckline, paired with black boots and the yellow gold version of the Robinson Pelham star drop earrings she previously wore to the 2022 premiere of Top Gun: Maverick. Underneath her coat, a glimpse of her red and green tartan skirt could be seen.
Kate arrived solo, getting to the event early to greet guests, volunteers and performers.
In addition to members of the royal family attending the service — including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis supporting their mom once again! — there will also be some star power from Kate Winslet, Dan Smith and Chiwetel Ejiofor among the 1,600 guests.
Although Hannah Waddingham was due to perform, Hello! reported that her singing voice was compromised, so while she will still attend, Zak Abel will perform “Silent Night” in her place.
Eugene Levy, who recently interviewed Prince William in one of his most intimate chats ever, also attended the event.
The Great British Bake Off judge Mary Berry was also seen arriving after helping create wreaths that are being used as decoration inside Westminster Abbey for the festive event.

The theme for this year's event is “love in all its forms.”
“This year, the Service will bring people together to celebrate love in all its forms — whether it’s love within families, through friendships, across communities or even through powerful moments of connection with strangers. In a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected, love is the force that reconnects us all – spanning generations, communities, cultures and faiths,” the palace's previous statement said. “As we approach the Christmas season, we are reminded of the power of togetherness. The evening will highlight the transformative power of investing in one another with compassion, presence and joy.”
Supported by The Royal Foundation, Princess Kate spearheaded the “Together at Christmas” Carol Service in 2021 as a tribute to those who went above and beyond for others during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event has continued ever since, each year highlighting different causes.

Princess Kate penned a special letter for guests, which reminded them of how simple acts of kindness can have an enormous positive impact.
“This carol service offers a moment of collective togetherness, a chance to celebrate the spirit of community and service, and to honour the visible and invisible bonds that unite us all,” the royal said. “The time, care and compassion you give, often quietly and unspoken, and without any expectation or recognition, make an extraordinary difference to the lives of others.”

She added, “Christmas is a time that reminds us how deeply our lives are woven together. Just as the roots of trees share strength beneath the soil, unseen but vital, so too do we.”
This year's Christmas service will also pay tribute to Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, who died in September. As guests enter Westminster Abbey for the event, they will hear music from young performers from Future Talent, a group co-founded by the late royal to support musically gifted children from low-income backgrounds, giving every child a chance to excel in music. Katharine was passionate about music throughout life, and she even secretly worked as a music teacher.

Just days ago, Princess Kate joined members of the royal family in hosting German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's state visit to the U.K., including a white-tie banquet at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, Dec. 3. For the occasion, she wore her fifth-ever tiara: Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet Tiara.
