A San Antonio family is mourning the loss of their teenage son, Jesús De La Rosa, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Now, they are focused on honoring his final wish — to return to his roots and be laid to rest in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico, where his family originally came from.
Jesús, a senior at IDEA High School South Flores, is being remembered by teachers, classmates, and neighbors for his bright spirit, kindness, and his special gift for making others laugh — even while facing the hardest moments of his life.
“He had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued,” one close friend shared through tears. “Even when he was hurting, he wanted to make us smile.”
His family says their grief is overwhelming, but they are finding strength in carrying out his last wish. “This is what he wanted,” a relative said softly. “He wanted to be home.”
🙏 The family is asking for prayers and words of comfort as they prepare to make the journey to Mexico. Friends and the local community have begun to rally around them, offering support to help them through this heartbreaking time.
