HOT NEWS: Police Extracted the Camera at Melodee Buzzard’s House — and in the Second Minute, They Discovered the Mother Does the Same Thing Every Day, Which Is…
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA — Investigators searching for 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard, who has been missing for more than a year, have uncovered a new piece of evidence that could shed light on what happened inside her home.
According to police sources, detectives recently recovered surveillance footage from a small camera inside the Buzzard residence. The footage, believed to have been automatically recorded from a smart security device, captures the daily life inside the house after Melodee’s disappearance.
But what detectives saw in the second minute of the footage has left many deeply emotional.
Every day — at almost the exact same hour — Melodee’s mother can be seen entering her daughter’s bedroom, quietly tidying the bed, adjusting the pillows, and carefully arranging the stuffed animals on the blanket. She then sits on the edge of the bed for a few minutes — not speaking, not moving much, just staring at the photos on the wall.
Sometimes she’s seen holding one of Melodee’s favorite storybooks, flipping through the pages slowly, before placing it back on the shelf in the same spot.
The entire room remains untouched — the same pajamas on the hanger, the same schoolbag on the chair, the same little lamp glowing softly by the window.
Detectives have not released the full footage but confirmed it has been added as emotional context evidence to help understand the timeline and behavior surrounding the case.
A police spokesperson said:
“We believe this footage shows a parent struggling with immense grief. It’s clear she’s been keeping the child’s space exactly as it was. While it doesn’t answer every question, it gives us a glimpse into the emotional aftermath of this tragedy.”
The video has reportedly moved even the most experienced officers. One investigator described it as “heartbreaking — a mother clinging to routine as if her child might walk through the door any moment.”
The search for Melodee Buzzard continues as authorities expand efforts across the state, reviewing digital evidence and potential leads.
