SEVEN-WORD MESSAGE: Victor Udoh’s girlfriend has publicly revealed the heartbreaking final message the young footballer reportedly sent just 25 minutes before his tragic death at the age of 21.
According to emotional statements shared online, the former Southampton and Royal Antwerp prospect appeared to be in severe distress shortly before he was later found unresponsive in Abuja, Nigeria.
The seven-word plea reportedly read:
“Something I drank is burning inside me.”
The chilling first word of the message immediately fueled speculation that the young player may have suffered a sudden reaction linked to contaminated food or drink, following early reports suggesting possible poisoning before his death.
Police sources stated that investigators are continuing to examine toxicology evidence after preliminary autopsy findings reportedly indicated signs consistent with possible toxic ingestion. However, authorities stressed that the final official cause of death has not yet been fully confirmed.
Victor Udoh’s girlfriend said she initially believed he was suffering from a stomach illness or severe food poisoning and urged him to seek medical help immediately. She claimed his replies became shorter and more difficult to understand before communication suddenly stopped completely.
