A 911 call authorities said was made by Caleb Flynn to report his wife Ashley Flynn’s killing is shedding more light on the case a day after he was arrested on murder charges.
Ashley Flynn, 37, was pronounced dead by police responding to a report of a burglary at her Tipp City, Ohio home on Monday, Feb. 16, Tipp City Police Department said in a statement earlier this week.
Her husband, 39-year-old Caleb Flynn, who police allege made the emergency call, has now been charged with murder in connection with her killing.
In the nearly eight-minute long 911 call obtained by PEOPLE, the caller police identified as Caleb tells the dispatcher someone broke into the house. The caller is then heard breaking down several times, repeatedly crying out “Oh my God.”
“Somebody broke into my home and killed my wife,” the caller cries, “…please, please hurry.”
“She’s got three shots to her and blood everywhere,” the caller says, later adding that she was shot in the head.
In a criminal complaint reviewed by PEOPLE, police confirmed Ashley had been fatally shot, but a medical examiner’s report has not yet been released and it’s unclear how many gunshot wounds she sustained.
The caller also tells the dispatcher that he was with the children when the shooting happened, but was calling 911 from their bedroom where Ashley’s body was found.
“Her face is white,” the caller tells the dispatcher.
“I don’t think she’s breathing,” he says at one point, before breaking off and pleading, “Ashley baby, baby please. Oh my God!”

Caleb, who was an American Idol contestant in 2013, was arrested on Thursday evening, Feb. 19, police said in the statement.
Ashley, a mother of two and a beloved volleyball coach, is being remembered by the community for her kindness and as a “shining light of joy” in her online obituary.
A GoFundMe has been set up to assist her two young daughters in the wake of the tragedy.
Caleb has been charged with murder, two counts of felonious assault and two counts of tampering with evidence, according to online court records reviewed by PEOPLE.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
