LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The man accused of wearing a mask to terrorize Philadelphia residents appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom Thursday morning.
A judge asked 22-year-old Zymire Hughes if he understood the two waivers of extradition from Pennsylvania that he signed.
Hughes answered that he did as he held a piece of paper up to his face. The judge gave authorities from Pennsylvania 30 days to extradite him.
The U.S. Marshals Service said Hughes was wanted by Philadelphia Police for “terrorizing citizens” in the Center City neighborhood.
Police accused him of approaching multiple people while wearing a mask similar to the horror character Chucky. In one instance, he allegedly chased a jogger, asking her “Do you want to die?”
The Nevada Violent Offender Task Force arrested him in Las Vegas earlier this week. He remains held at the Clark County Detention Center.
