atrick faces the possibility of reliving the tragedy all over again after the mistrial

Lindsay Clancy’s former husband, Patrick, issues statement following mistrial via attorney

“The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful — for Patrick, for his family, and for all us,” his lawyer said Friday.

After Lindsay Clancy‘s murder trial ended with a hung jury and a mistrial Friday, a lawyer for the Duxbury mother’s former husband, Patrick, is speaking out.

“The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful — for Patrick, for his family, and for all us,” his attorney, David Meier, said Friday afternoon.

Though he divorced Lindsay after she strangled their three children on Jan. 24, 2023, Patrick has remained supportive of his ex-wife and her defense. Now remarried and living in New York, he has described Lindsay as a “very dedicated” mother and previously told The New Yorker“I wasn’t married to a monster — I was married to someone who got sick.”

Patrick also has a wrongful death lawsuit pending against several mental health care providers who treated Lindsay in the weeks and months before she killed 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan.

“Patrick Clancy is grateful to the Court and to the jurors for their hard work, their commitment, and their perseverance,” Meier said following the mistrial. “The loss of Patrick’s children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure.”

With the trial captivating international audiences, unfounded conspiracy theories have circulated online and pointed blame not at Lindsay, who has admitted to strangling her children, but at Patrick instead. He and his current wife have been trailed by paparazzi and dogged by sordid — but wholly unfounded — allegations as armchair sleuths pored over his digital footprint and every word of his testimony.
