A missing Grand Canyon hiker’s backpack has been found. Officials are looking for the person who turned it in.

A missing hiker’s backpack was turned in at a lodge near the Grand Canyon. Officials seek to interview whoever turned it in as they continue their investigation.

GRAND CANYON VILLAGE, Ariz. — A backpack believed to be connected to a missing Grand Canyon hiker has been found and now officials want to speak with the person who turned it in.

Sandarsh Krishna, 26, was reported missing on Thursday, according to the National Park Service.

Investigators believe Krishna had a black backpack at the time he went missing.

A black backpack believed to be associated with Krishna was later turned in to hotel personnel at Bright Angel Lodge on April 28 at approximately 7 a.m.

Investigators are seeking to identify and speak with the individual who turned the backpack in to lodge staff. The person is not considered a suspect.
